Alfredo sauce

Serves 4

Tip: This creamy sauce is low in fat, thanks to skim milk and low-fat cream cheese.

  1. Add 1/2 teaspoon olive oil.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon minced garlic.
  3. Cook 1 minute.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour.
  5. Lower heat to medium.
  6. Cook 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Add 1 1/3 cups skim milk.
  8. Cook until thickened.
  9. Add 2 tablespoons low-fat cream cheese.
  10. Add 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
  11. Add 1/2 teaspoon white pepper.
  12. Stir until well-blended.
