Caramelized onion chicken pizza
Serves 8
Tip: Want more flavor? Finely chop pineapple or five slices of Canadian bacon and sprinkle on your pizza.
- Add 1 1/2 cups warm water.
- Add 1 tablespoon sugar.
- Add 1 tablespoon active dry yeast.
- Add 1 teaspoon salt.
- Add 1 tablespoon olive oil.
- Set yeast mixture aside.
- Add 2 cups whole-wheat flour.
- Add 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour.
- Mix flour and yeast mixture.
- Let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
- Add 1 teaspoon olive oil.
- Add 1 small red onion.
- Cook until caramelized.
- Place dough on baking sheet.
- Add 1/2 cup barbecue sauce.
- Add 6 ounces cooked chicken breast.
- Add cooked onions.
- Add 1 yellow bell pepper.
- Add 1 green bell pepper.
- Add 2 cups part-skim mozzarella cheese.
- Add 1/2 cup feta cheese.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 400 F.
