Céline Dion is denouncing the Trump campaign after it played her hit track, “My Heart Will Go On,” at a recent rally in Montana.

Dion’s verified X account shared that that the campaign was not authorized to use her 1997 hit that’s forever tied to James Cameron’s 1997 romantic disaster film, Titanic. The track was played ahead of former President Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, appearing at Friday’s rally in Bozeman, Montana.

“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana,” the tweet read before questioning the selection of the song. “In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. … And really, THAT song?”

That same night, the campaign also played Queen’s 1977 banger, “We Will Rock You,” along with images of the rock band’s frontman, Freddie Mercury. That’s noteworthy considering that Queen has previously sent the campaign cease and desist letters to prevent them from using their music at his rallies, to no avail in what has now become a years-long battle.

Dion’s opposition comes less than a month after her spectacular return to the world stage with an epic performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Dion, amid her ongoing battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, beautifully belted out the French ballad, “Hymne A L’Amour” by Édith Piaf with the help of a full orchestra. She performed on the first level of the Eiffel Tower.

That performance marked her first since she halted her worldwide tour and stepped back from public life after revealing her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022.

Dion previously made a surprise appearance at the 2024 NHL Draft to select the Montreal Canadiens’ fifth overall pick.
