Creole shrimp
Serves 4
Tip: Store leftover Creole seasoning in an airtight store for up to 1 month. Add to cornbread, stewed chicken, rice or soups.
- Add 2 1/4 tablespoons paprika.
- Add 1 tablespoon kosher salt.
- Add 1 tablespoon garlic powder.
- Add 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper.
- Add 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder.
- Add 1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper.
- Add 1 1/2 teaspoons oregano.
- Add 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme.
- Mix well until combined.
- Add 2 teaspoons canola oil.
- Add 1 cup chopped onions.
- Add 1/2 cup chopped green pepper.
- Add 1/2 cup chopped celery.
- Saute 8 minutes.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Add pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Add 3 medium chopped tomatoes.
- Add 1 teaspoon chopped garlic.
- Add 1 bay leaf.
- Simmer 2 minutes.
- Combine 1 pound shrimp and 2 teaspoons Creole seasoning.
- Add 1/2 cup water.
- Add 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour.
- Add dash of tabasco sauce.
- Pour in flour mixture.
- Add seasoned shrimp.
- Cook 5 to 8 minutes.
