Savannah Guthrie left a very important item at a bar while out with her Today show co-hosts. The 52-year-old journalist appeared on Tuesday’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen with her longtime pal and co-host, Hoda Kotb.
When a caller asked Guthrie about how she lost a tooth, the veteran TV personality went on to explain the funny scenario.
“It did happen. That was the Christmas party, which when you’re at the Today show Christmas party, it starts at, like, 3 p.m. A lot of day drinking,” Guthrie noted.
She added that she ended up staying later than the majority of the cast, having a good time with her remaining coworkers, including Sheinelle Jones, Dylan Dreyer, and Jenna Bush Hager.
“The next thing I know, the morning I wake up, I’m like, ‘I feel like something’s missing.’ It was, like, a molar,” Guthrie said, noting she felt a blank space in the back of her jaw. “I was like, ‘Where is it?’ And they were like, ‘Maybe it’s at the Pebble Bar.’ It was gone.”
Kotb, who laughed at the memory and shook her head, noted that Guthrie took a long time to get her tooth fixed.
“She let it go for longer than weeks! I was like, ‘Go to the dentist,'” Kotb recalled.
“You couldn’t see it. It was a molar!” Guthrie replied.
Guthrie previously shared that she lost a tooth during a joint People magazine interview with her co-hosts.
“I don’t know, it’s still at the Pebble Bar,” she said back in May.
Kotb opened up to ET back in March about her bond with Guthrie and how they support one another personally and professionally.
“We love each other, and everybody is unique in their own lane,” Kotb told ET. “Savannah’s brilliant. She’ll be like, ‘Read this, it’s just some silly thing in my journal.’ And I’m like, ‘This isn’t a silly journal thing. If I had this, I’d print it today. Let’s go!'”
