Watch the first trailer for GTA 6 here
The GTA 6 teaser trailer has here, and it lives up to our expectations. A leak forced Rockstar to reveal the highly anticipated first look at Grand Theft Auto: Revelations a little sooner than planned, even though the publisher had previously scheduled the trailer’s release for Tuesday, December 5. We get our first look at the dual protagonists and Vice City’s return in the GTA 6 teaser, which you can see above.
Release date of GTA 6: 2025 is the target
The release date of Grand Theft Auto 6 is confirmed by Rockstar to be 2025. Grand Theft Auto 6 will release on TBC in 2025, according to the reveal trailer, however no specific release date has been announced. Although Rockstar has not yet confirmed the GTA 6 platforms, we can pretty much assume that it will be available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X at the very least.
Internet detectives have been speculating before the reveal trailer dropped. A report that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be set in a modern-day Vice City surfaced, and several sources have confirmed that the game will indeed arrive in 2025.
Remarkably, Take-Two, the proprietor of Rockstar, keeps hinting that GTA 6 would be out by March 2025 but says nothing about it. Strauss Zelnick, our CEO, states that “we remain confident that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance.” That big increase in sales forecasts is purportedly the result of the release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
What’s taking so long with GTA 6?
Many of you are asking why the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is taking so long. In all honesty, it’s not surprising that Rockstar is taking its time given the popularity of GTA 5 and GTA Online as well as the scale of Red Dead Redemption 2. When the studio announced that GTA 6 was being developed, it declared as much. “The unprecedented longevity of GTA 5″—which has been updated and re-released many times in the last nine years—was something that Rockstar made a point of mentioning.
Location of GTA 6: We’re returning to Vice City
Vice City is returned in Grand Theft Auto 6. Although the first game took place in 1986, the 2025 version is supposed to take place in what looks to be a contemporary setting. Although we’re still waiting on word from Rockstar, the first glimpse at the GTA 6 trailer seems to suggest that the studio is recreating well-known locations like Starfish Island. It’s unclear, though, if we’ll be able to visit beloved locations like the Malibu Club, Ocean View Hotel, and Little Haiti.
Expect more updates on the GTA 6 location soon as this story continues to grow.
GTA 6 announcement: When was the game’s release confirmed?
In February 2022, Rockstar Games made the first official statement about Grand Theft Auto 6 by revealing that the game is “well underway” as part of a larger update for GTA 5 and GTA Online Community. “On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you,” Rockstar said in response to news that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in “active development.”
Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive confirmed in August 2022 that GTA 6 development is “well underway” in a financial results release. As for what GTA 6 will accomplish, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick promised big things: “With development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases.”
News for GTA 6
Since the formal announcement in February 2022, there hasn’t been any official GTA 6 news, but that’s typical Rockstar Games. The developer has been rather silent about the much awaited sequel, save from the enormous leak, which you can read about here, and the reactions to it.
GTA 6 leaks: Do the most recent GTA 6 leaks exist?
On September 18, 2022, there was an extraordinary GTA 6 leak, during which hundreds of pictures and videos purportedly from an in-development version of the game appeared online. Do you want to know if the GTA 6 leaks are authentic or not? Since then, Rockstar has confirmed the hack in a statement: “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto.”
“We are deeply disappointed that any information about our upcoming game has been disclosed to you all in this manner,” the Rockstar statement goes on. “We will give everyone another update shortly, and when the next game is ready, we will undoubtedly give you a full introduction. We would want to express our gratitude to everyone for their continued assistance throughout this time.”
The GTA Forums have been working hard to remove all traces of the illicitly obtained screenshots and videos in the 48 hours after the GTA 6 leak first surfaced in order to prevent being “obliterated by Rockstar”. The devoted GTA 6 reddit has also removed all of the leak’s images, videos, and links and promised to remain up to date—but only under one condition: “We will let conversations about the leak without attaching the leaks. Comments containing download links for the leak are prohibited by us.”
Rockstar and parent company Take-Two have since discussed the disclosures in public. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto, described the leak as “terribly unfortunate” on a recent earnings call, but he also stated that “we take those sorts of incidents very seriously indeed”.
“It’s reassuring to know that there is no proof of any major assets being taken, and the leak won’t affect development or anything else of the kind. However, it is quite disheartening and makes us even more watchful when it comes to cybersecurity issues.”
As of right now, the youngster who is suspected of leaking a large amount of GTA 6 has been found to be mentally unfit to stand trial. According to Reuters, psychiatrists have determined that 18-year-old Arion Kurtaj, a hacker with the Lapsus$ organization, is not competent to stand trial on his own.
Remarkably, one leaked screenshot from Grand Theft Auto 6 is the only example of a Rockstar copyright “nuke” that has survived. It appears that only one frame has eluded Rockstar’s extensive copyright threats on the internet.
Is GTA 6 going to be delayed?
There was some worry about how the incursion might affect the continuing development of the new Grand Theft Auto game in the immediate wake of the fresh GTA 6 leak. Since then, Rockstar has reaffirmed in a formal statement that neither the ongoing security of GTA 5 and GTA Online nor the development of GTA 6 would be impacted by the hack. We do not currently foresee any interruptions to our live gaming services or long-term effects on the advancement of our existing projects […] We’re going to keep working on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game and are just as dedicated as ever to giving our users an experience that goes above and beyond anything they could have imagined.”
Map of GTA 6
Even though the official GTA 6 map hasn’t been revealed yet, there are hints from the screens and video leak that point to a play area outside of Vice City. A handful of the leaked pictures seem to depict entirely new Vice City locations, much as how Rockstar expanded upon Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA 5. As you may be aware, Vice City is partially modeled after Miami. There is currently conjecture that GTA 6 will move even farther south, possibly toward the Florida Keys (a chain of tropical islands) and the Everglades (a swamp).
The “Gator Keys” were mentioned in a radio broadcast during the first Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game, although the location was never displayed in-game. The GTA 6 map is likely to feature a variety of environment types if the screenshots confirm our suspicions.
Remarkably, many are certain that the GTA 6 map will surpass the size of the GTA 5 map. Players on the GTA 6 subreddit are attempting to map out the game using leaked coordinates, and they have since begun piecing the map together with Paint and Google Earth. intelligent people.
Characters in Grand Theft Auto 6: Will there be a female protagonist?
The first female protagonist in Grand Theft Auto 6 (or at least the first for the series in the 3D era) has allegedly been in development for months by Rockstar. The revelation was first reported by Bloomberg earlier this year, and the GTA 6 leak has subsequently confirmed it. The research examined the shifting corporate culture within Rockstar North. Two new playable characters from Grand Theft Auto 6 can be seen in the early development footage.
The characters’ in-development names are Jason and Lucia, and it looks like GTA 5’s character switching mechanism is making a comeback in some form. In a leaked video, the two were shown robbing a restaurant jointly, with the player controlling one character while AI controlled the other. Character switching occurs in a different clip, however it happens very instantly rather than slowly shifting perspectives as shown in
Playthrough of GTA 6
Since Rockstar hasn’t released a GTA 6 trailer, we can’t say for sure how Grand Theft Auto 6 will play or how it will differ from the original game. Nevertheless, it’s evident from the early development video that surfaced online that Rockstar is, at minimum, exploring and testing a few new features. For instance, video shows people creeping while prone and even carrying bodies, suggesting the introduction of a new set of stealth mechanics.
The weapon wheel, which underwent a redesign for Grand Theft Auto V, is also making a comeback in some form, and the leaked video appears to show that Rockstar is adding new health-boosting goods like painkillers. We can also observe that the VCPD’s AI tracking algorithms for Jason and Lucia have been enhanced, and that the Five Star ‘Wanted’ system is making a comeback.
